Ms. Slippen handles employment litigation matters before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. She has experience in a wide variety of employment matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination (on the basis of race, sex, age, disability, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, or national origin), sexual harassment, hostile work environment, and retaliation. Outside of the courtroom, Jessica advises clients on numerous workplace related issues, including wage and hour obligations, family and medical leave, disability accommodation, and compliant personnel policies and practices.  Jessica provides counsel to both employees and employers in a variety of employment related matters, including severance negotiation, non-competition and confidentiality matters, and executive compensation review.  

Jessica regularly provides workplace trainings and guides both employers and employees regarding personnel policies, handbook compliance, internal investigations and disciplinary procedures.  By representing both employers and employees, Jessica prides herself in having a keen and insightful understanding of the workplace issues that impact today’s complex work environment.  Jessica’s focus is on all aspects of the employment relationship, and helping her clients achieve a positive, healthy, and above all, a legally compliant workplace.

Jessica graduated from the University Of Connecticut School Of Law in 2003 where she was the Administrative Editor of the Connecticut Law Review. She was the recipient of the CALI Award of Excellence in Legal Writing. Jessica served as a Board Member and Chair of the Labor Law Section of the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association and was also a member of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section. She was listed as a Connecticut Super Lawyers Rising Stars: Business Litigation, 2010-2011 and 2013, and then Super Lawyer for 2014-2015, 2017-2023 (click here to review selection process). Jessica is admitted to practice before the Connecticut State Bar, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York and the District of Connecticut, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
